Serge Anissimoff, Senior Partner

BEng (Mechanical), LLB has practiced law in the Province of Ontario since 1974 with firms in Toronto before founding Anissimoff & Associates (now Anissimoff Law and Anissimoff & Associates Inc.) in 1995. He specializes in patent, trade-mark and copyright litigation, is a registered trade-mark agent, and has conducted litigation at both the trial and appeal levels of the Superior Court of Justice and the Federal Court of Canada. Mr. Anissimoff has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. He currently serves as a member of the Canadian roster of Panelists established under NAFTA.

Counsel to the Firm

Senator Joseph Day

B.Eng (Electrical), LLB, LLM, is licensed to practice law in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick and is a registered patent agent. On October 4, 2001, the Prime Minister of Canada appointed him to the Canadian Senate. Senator Day is associated with the firm as counsel.

Bruce Welling

BSc (Math & Physics), LLB, LLM, PhD, Professor at Law, University of Western Ontario Law School, is counsel to the firm. He has written numerous legal texts, especially in the area of corporate and property law. His book Corporate Law in Canada: The Governing Principles (Butterworths Canada 2d ed. 1991) is the leading Canadian treatise on the subject. He has written two other books on corporations and companies, as well as Property in Things in the Common Law System (Scribblers Publishing Australia 1996). He is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and conducts law school classes in Corporate Law, Conflict of Laws, and Property.


Jaime Holroyd, Associate

BSc Hons. (Microbiology), JD articled with a large intellectual property firm in Toronto before joining Anissimoff Law. He practices in all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on drafting and prosecuting patent application as well as patent and trade-mark litigation. Jaime is a graduate of the Intellectual Property, Information and Technology Law Area of Concentration at Western Law where he received awards in both property law and intellectual property law.

Jaime is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Middlesex Law Association.
